Dyfed

George Borrow (1803-81), visited Llandovery and Ponterwyd 1854. The George Borrow Hotel, Ponterwyd, Ceredigion is named after him.

Dylan Thomas (1914-53) Dylan Thomas was a regular visitor to Llangrannog. The Pentre Arms in Llangrannog, the pub which Dylan Thomas was thrown out for helping himself to beer has finally lifted his ban by staging an exhibition in his honour. The exhibition has now gone, but there is a plaque on the wall. Visited Laugharne in 38-40. Settled in Laugharne 40-53. Lived lived at 'Majoda', New Quay, Ceredigion (Cardiganshire), in 1944 - 45 and 'Plas Gelli' near Talsarn between 1941 and 1943. Buried in Laugharne.
