Healds House School on Dewsbury Moor, where Charlotte taught, is the 'Whinbury' of her novel Shirley. Governess in Lothersdale. d Haworth aged 38

J B Priestley (1894-1984) John Boynton Priestley was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, 13th September 1894, the son of a schoolmaster.

Leo Walmsley (1892-1966) born at 7, Clifton Place, Shipley in West Yorkshire. Blue plaque fixed, 1997. From 1894-1913, cottage in King Street, Robin Hood's Bay. Blue plaque fixed by Whitby Phil. Society, 1968 (Long before Walmsley Society inaugurated). Later he lived at Leith Rigg, near Robin Hood's Bay. Converted barn into house, 1930s.
